Soccer
At El Marine Primary, soccer is played throughout the year.
Grade 1–3 learners participate in soccer during their compulsory 45-minute sport period.
Practice takes place from Monday to Thursday.
Grade 4–7 learners practise on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 14:30 to 15:30.
Please note that due to our limited field space, soccer during break times is only permitted on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Learners must bring their own soccer balls if they wish to play during break on these days.

Soccer is the world’s most popular sport and a favourite among our learners at El Marine Primary.
The game is played between two teams of eleven players on a grass field, with a goal at each end.
The aim is to work together as a team to score goals by getting the ball into the opposing team’s net.
In soccer, players use their feet, knees and heads to pass and control the ball. Only the goalkeeper is allowed to use their hands.
Through soccer, our learners develop teamwork, discipline, coordination and sportsmanship
all while having fun and staying active.
